Holi Skin Care Tips: Didn't soap remove the Holi colour? Try these beauty tips..

Holi 2026: The joy of Holi is incomplete without colors. However, sometimes the stubborn color sticks to the face so much that it doesn't come off for 2-3 days. Many people panic and apply soap, scrubs, or chemical bleach, and this is where the real skin problems begin.

People make numerous preparations before the festival. They follow a skincare routine to enhance their complexion. They even apply moisturizer, sunscreen, or coconut oil before playing with colors. However, after playing Holi, the color becomes stubborn, which is quite difficult to remove.

The question is, how to remove stubborn color from the face so that the skin remains safe and the color is also removed? Let's learn safe, effective beauty tips.

What not to do first?

Do not repeatedly scrub with face wash.
Do not use scrubs or harsh chemicals immediately.
Do not apply products like nail polish remover or petrol.
Do not wash the face with hot water.
Excessive rubbing can damage the upper layer of the skin.

Step 1 - Start with Oil Cleansing

Most dyes are oil-based or chemical-based. Therefore, oil is the best first step to remove them.

Coconut Oil
Olive Oil
Almond Oil
How to Do

Apply oil to your face and massage gently for 5–10 minutes.
Wipe off with cotton.
Then wash off with a mild face wash.

This method loosens the dye and doesn't dry out the skin.

Step 2 - Milk and Gram Flour Pack

If the dye is still visible, mix two teaspoons of gram flour, two to three teaspoons of raw milk, and a few drops of rose water. Make a paste and apply it to your face. After 10–15 minutes, gently rub it in and wash it off. This method removes dead skin and lightens the complexion.

Step 3 - Yogurt and Honey Therapy

Yogurt contains lactic acid, which gently exfoliates the skin. Mix one teaspoon of yogurt and one teaspoon of honey, and apply it for 15 minutes. It soothes the skin and reduces color stains.

Step 4 - Use Lemon Carefully

If the color is very stubborn, mix a little honey with lemon juice. Apply only to the stained area and wash it off after 5 minutes. Be careful not to apply lemon directly to sensitive skin. Do a patch test.

Step 5 - Don't Forget to Moisturize

Skin may become dry after removing the color. Apply aloe vera gel, a light moisturizer, and sunscreen if you have to go outside. These help repair the skin.

Additional Beauty Tips

Apply a thick layer of oil or moisturizer to your face before playing Holi.

Also, apply oil to your nails and behind your ears.

Don't wear makeup on Holi.

Don't rush to remove the color immediately. The color will fade on its own within a day or two.
