The fast of Karva Chauth is near. Preparations are underway in homes. Every year, this fast is observed on the Chaturthi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the month of Kartika to attain eternal happiness. On Karva Chauth, women adorn themselves with sixteen adornments and observe a Nirjala fast for their husbands' long life.

When the moon is visible in the evening, it is worshipped. However, sometimes due to bad weather, the moon is not visible in the sky. If the moon is not visible on Karva Chauth this year, there is no need to worry. Acharya Anand Bhardwaj of Ujjain explained that if women do not see the moon, Lord Shiva will help them complete their fast. Learn how.
According to the Vedic calendar, the Chaturthi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Kartika begins at 10:54 pm on October 9th and will last until approximately 7:38 pm on October 10th. Therefore, this year's Karva Chauth fast will be observed on Friday, October 10th.
The moon is worshipped on Karva Chauth to pray for the husband's long life, eternal happiness, and peace in married life. The moon is considered a symbol of peace, prosperity, and mental stability.
Worshipping the moon calms the mind, strengthening the relationship between husband and wife. It also honors the elements of water and earth, which are linked to marital happiness.
When will Karva Chauth be observed?
If the moon is not visible, women should visit a nearby Shiva temple on the night of Karva Chauth, where the moon is clearly visible on Lord Shiva's forehead. The moon is always adorned on Lord Shiva's forehead.
You can complete the Karva Chauth fast by visiting the temple after moonrise and offering prayers to the moon on Shiva's forehead. This method will bring you the blessings of the fast.

Silver Coin
If the moon is not visible, there is another solution. After moonrise, take a silver coin or a round piece of silver. Worship it, considering it to be a representation of the moon. Offer the Karva Chauth prayers to it. Then, break the fast and complete the fast. Because the Moon's auspicious gemstone is silver, observing this fast will also bring special merit.
