**Significance of Shri Krishna Janmashtami**
When the tyranny of Kansa escalated in Mathura, Lord Vishnu incarnated as the son of Devaki and Vasudeva. He took the avatar of Shri Krishna during the *Dvapara Yuga* to put an end to sin and establish *Dharma* (righteousness). On this day, people observe fasts and perform worship with the desire to be blessed with virtuous progeny. Through the grace of Lord Krishna, one attains love, joy, happiness, prosperity, progeny, and *Moksha* (salvation).
