Kajari Teej Puja Muhurta: Fasts and festivals have special significance in Hinduism, and Kajari Teej, which comes in the month of Bhadrapada, is also one such very auspicious festival. This festival is especially celebrated to wish for good luck, love, family happiness, and peace. It is believed that this fast was started by Mother Parvati herself, and since then, this fast is considered to be especially fruitful for women. While married women observe this fast for the long life and marital happiness of their husbands, unmarried girls observe this fast with the wish of getting a desired life partner.

In the year 2025, Kajari Teej will be celebrated on Tuesday, 12 August. This festival falls on the Tritiya Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month, and on this day, a fast is observed by doing special worship of Mother Parvati. Due to the recognition of Udaya Tithi, this festival will be celebrated on August 12 itself. The Tritiya Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada will start on August 11 at 10.33 am. Which will end on 12th August at 08.40 am. Udaya Tithi is recognized in Hinduism, so Kajari Teej will be celebrated on 12th August only.

Kajri Teej Puja Vidhi

On the day of Kajari Teej, take a bath in Brahma Muhurta in the morning and wear clean clothes.

Collect all the necessary materials for the puja and take a vow to fast.

Spread a red or yellow cloth on a stool and install an idol or picture of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati on it.

Offer Belpatra and Dhatura to Lord Shiva, while offering Suhaag items to Mother Parvati.

After this, light a lamp and worship, perform Aarti, and then recite the Vrat Katha.

How to prepare for worship

On this day, women make a small pond near the wall with cow dung and soil, in which neem twigs are planted. Water mixed with milk is poured into the pond, and a lamp is lit on the shore.

Keep lemon, cucumber, banana, apple, sattu, roli, mauli, rice (akshat) etc. in the puja plate. Also, take raw milk in a pot.

In the evening, women worship Teej Mata after doing sixteen adornments.

They sprinkle water and roli on Neemdi Mata, offer rice, and put 13 dots each on the wall with mehndi, roli, and kajal.

Mehndi and roli dots are put on the ring finger, and kajal dots are put on the index finger.

Mauli, mehndi, kajal, dupatta, fruits, and sattu are offered to Neemdi Mata, and she is worshipped ritually.

Moon worship method

At the time of moonrise, women worship the moon by holding wheat grains and a silver ring in their hands. They break their fast by offering arghya to them. After this, blessings are taken by donating Suhaag items to a fortunate woman, which fulfills wishes.

It is believed that by observing this fast, married women are blessed with a happy married life and a long life for their husband, while unmarried girls get their desired groom.
