The holy Kanwar Yatra, dedicated to Lord Bhole Nath, officially commenced on the *Pratipada Tithi* (first day) of the *Krishna Paksha* (waning phase of the moon) in the month of Shravan. The *Panchak* period began on July 31, the day following the start of the Kanwar Yatra on July 30. Undertaking the Kanwar Yatra during *Panchak* is a matter of consideration. According to scriptures, items made of bamboo are prohibited during *Panchak*; similarly, setting out on the journey carrying a new *Kanwar* during this period can lead to various obstacles. However, *Kanwariyas* (pilgrims) who fill their *Kanwars* with water and depart for their destination before the onset of *Panchak* complete their journey without any hindrances.

Regarding the practice of bathing in the Ganges at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar and setting out with holy water during *Panchak*, astrologer Pandit Shridhar Shastri explains that the *Panchak* period occurs every month, including the month of Shravan. During these five days, traveling while carrying items made of bamboo is forbidden. Since the *Kanwar* is made of bamboo, carrying it during *Panchak* poses a risk of encountering numerous problems. The *Panchak* period began on July 31 and will continue until 9:54 PM on August 4.

**Forgiveness from Bhole Nath for Unintentional Mistakes**

He explains that *Kanwariyas* who had already hoisted the *Kanwar* onto their shoulders and departed for their destinations before the *Panchak* period began will face no difficulties in their journey. But how can the *Dosha* (spiritual fault) be remedied if a Shiva devotee unknowingly undertakes the journey carrying a *Kanwar* during *Panchak*? Answering this, Pandit Shastri stated that if the mistake was made inadvertently, chanting the name of Bhole Nath in one's heart and undertaking the journey with faith and devotion ensures that no spiritual fault is incurred, and the pilgrimage is completed without obstacles.

Deliberate errors may lead to obstacles.
Pandit Shridhar Shastri further stated that while Bholenath forgives unintentional errors, Shiva devotees who knowingly undertake the Kanwar Yatra during the *Panchak* period may face various problems, such as obstacles in their journey or the breaking of the *Kanwar*. It is worth noting that since the Kanwar Yatra began on July 30, unique Shiva devotees have been reaching Haridwar, carrying *Gangajal* on their shoulders and proceeding toward their destinations. Their unwavering faith in Bholenath and their devotion to Him are prevailing over the restrictions associated with *Panchak*. Amidst chants of "Bam-Bam Bhole" and "Bol-Bam Bam," the *Kanwariyas* are moving from Haridwar toward their destinations.
