Kartik Purnima Bathing Method

If you are going to take a bath in the Ganga today, remember Mother Ganga and take a dip. You should take five dips during the bath. According to religious beliefs, the first dip is taken facing east. Before bathing, one should pay obeisance to Mother Ganga and the water deity. Then, take the second dip to receive the blessings of the family deity and the deity of one's choice. Take the third dip facing north.

This will bestow the blessings of Mother Parvati, Lord Shiva, all sages, and gurus. Take the fourth dip facing west. This will bestow the blessings of 33 crore gods and goddesses. In the evening, after sunset, i.e., after 5:33 PM, worship Goddess Lakshmi during Pradosh Kaal. Offer kheer and white sweets to her. Then, worship the moon at night. Moonrise is at 5:11 PM.
