Lighting a four-faced lamp (*Chaumukhi Diya*) facing the south can also help liberate you from *Pitru Dosh* (ancestral affliction). Performing this ritual helps resolve obstacles in your career and business; therefore, everyone should certainly undertake this practice during Pitru Paksha.

3. Nowadays, many people light a lamp at the main entrance of their home. Since ancestors enter the house through the main entrance during Pitru Paksha, it is essential to light a lamp there throughout this period. You can perform this ritual daily during Pitru Paksha. Lighting a lamp at the main entrance dispels negativity from your life and also pleases your ancestors.

4. Many people worship their ancestors daily. We invariably display photographs of our ancestors somewhere in the house, and these usually remain hanging in the same spot all year round. During Pitru Paksha, you should make sure to clean these photographs. Additionally, a lamp should be lit either directly beneath or near the place where the photograph is displayed. Doing so allows you to express your reverence for your ancestors, and this act pleases them.
