Which baths are left in Mahakumbh now?

1. Magh Purnima (24 February 2025)

After Basant Panchami, the next big bath will be on Magh Purnima. Purnima has special significance in Hinduism because on this day the moon is in its full phase. According to religious beliefs, bathing in Sangam on Magh Purnima leads to salvation and all sins are destroyed. However, if you want to avoid the crowd, you can bathe before or after the main date.

2. Mahashivratri (26 February 2025)

The last major bath of Mahakumbh 2025 will be on the day of Mahashivratri. This day is special for Shiva devotees, and bathing in Sangam on this occasion leads to the attainment of Akshaya Punya. A large number of devotees may reach Prayagraj on this day, so if you want to avoid the crowd, it would be better to bathe beforehand.

The spiritual significance of Amrit Snan

According to the scriptures, taking Amrit Snan during Mahakumbh liberates one from all sins and attains salvation. It is also believed that this bath brings peace to the souls of ancestors (pitras) and eliminates Pitra Dosha.

Although bathing on any day during Maha Kumbha bestows special virtue, taking a dip on the Amrit Snan days is considered especially fruitful.
