How to do Puja on Mahashivratri

Get up early in the morning and take a bath and wear clean clothes. If you want to keep a fast, then take a vow of fasting before sunrise. After this, go to the Shiva temple and do Jalabhishek or Rudrabhishek of Shivling. During this, offer Belpatra, Dhatura, Gangajal and perfume, raw cow milk, curd and honey on Shivling. Along with this, recite or listen to Shiv Puran, Shiv Chalisa or Mahashivratri Katha in the evening.
