Renowned actor Manoj Bajpayee has expressed displeasure over this, explaining to the audience that they should not be concerned with a film's earnings or budget.

'Revealing the budget is just a publicity tactic.'
According to a Hindustan Times report, when Manoj Bajpayee was asked why the makers of films like 'Ramayana' and 'Varanasi' are heavily promoting their massive budgets, he stated that it is merely a publicity stunt. This method has been used for the past 15 years to portray films as hits.

'The audience doesn't get a single rupee from these earnings. '
Manoj Bajpayee explained to the audience, "This trend has become so pervasive that even ordinary people I meet at the airport start asking me about box-office figures. I point out to them that this money isn't going into their bank accounts. An audience member's only connection to a film should be whether they liked it or not. The ₹500–600 crore figures cited by makers offer no benefit to the audience; the film's business is solely the producer's concern."

When will 'Ramayana' (Parts 1 and 2) be released?
Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana' is touted as the most expensive film in the history of Indian cinema, with a reported budget of ₹4,000 crore. The film will feature Ranbir Kapoor (Lord Ram), Sai Pallavi (Sita), Sunny Deol (Hanuman), Ravi Dubey (Lakshman), and Yash (Ravana). Its first part is scheduled for release during Diwali this year.

'Varanasi' to release in 2027
Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, the film 'Varanasi' has a budget of approximately ₹1,400 crore. Mahesh Babu plays the lead role in this film, and Priyanka Chopra is making her comeback to South Indian cinema with it. Notably, it will be India's first film to be shot entirely in the IMAX format.
