What is bipolar disorder?
Now the question arises, what is bipolar disorder? Which has troubled a young man so much that now he finds it easier to die than to live?
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, bipolar disorder is a 'manic depressive illness' in which the patient keeps feeling extreme changes in his mood and energy levels in the body. It involves very rapid emotional fluctuations, which are also called mania or hypomania.
It may sometimes feel very sad or depressed, the patient may lose interest or pleasure in daily activities. When the mood changes to mania or hypomania, you may feel very excited and full of energy or unusually irritable. These mood swings can affect sleep, energy levels, daily activity, decisions and behavior, and the ability to think clearly. Bipolar is a serious mental health condition.
What are the problems in bipolar disorder?
Bipolar disorder can cause many types of problems. Most people may feel more active, energetic, or excited than usual due to this.
The patient may become unusually talkative and start talking fast.
The patient may sometimes feel very sad and have a deep lack of joy.
Due to psychosis, it may be difficult to work normally and deal with things in a better way.
What to do if you have bipolar disorder?
Some types of changes are seen in the brains of people suffering from bipolar disorder. People who have someone in their family already having this problem may have a higher risk of this problem in the next generations.
Studies show that there is no sure way to avoid this disorder. However, people who have this problem can get help in controlling the symptoms with a mental health assessment. If you or someone you know is showing its symptoms, then definitely take them to the doctor.
