Nirjala Ekadashi Vrat 2026: In Hinduism, Nirjala Ekadashi holds special significance, as it is considered the greatest of all Ekadashis in the year. This fast is observed on the Ekadashi Tithi (eleventh day) of the *Shukla Paksha* (waxing phase of the moon) during the month of *Jyeshtha*. According to religious scriptures, Nirjala Ekadashi is the most arduous yet spiritually rewarding of all Ekadashis, as the prescribed ritual for this day involves fasting without consuming any water.

Devotees who observe this fast with true sincerity are believed to reap spiritual merits equivalent to observing all 24 Ekadashis throughout the entire year. It is believed that performing a proper, ritualistic worship of Lord Vishnu on this day brings happiness and prosperity into one's life and bestows the blessing of attaining *Moksha* (salvation). When is Nirjala Ekadashi 2026?

The Ekadashi Tithi of the *Shukla Paksha* in the month of *Jyeshtha* will commence on June 24, 2026, at 6:12 PM. Conversely, this Tithi will conclude on June 25, 2026, at 8:09 PM. Based on the *Udaya Tithi* (the prevailing Tithi at sunrise), the Nirjala Ekadashi fast will be observed on Thursday, June 25, 2026. It will be auspicious to break the fast (*Parana*) on June 26, between 5:25 AM and 8:13 AM.

Nirjala Ekadashi Worship Method

On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, worship Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.

During the worship, offer yellow flowers, *Tulsi* (Holy Basil) leaves, and sweets to the deities.

Light a *ghee* lamp and chant the mantra "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya." This is considered extremely auspicious.

In the evening, perform *Deepdan* (offering of lamps) and engage in singing hymns (*Bhajans* and *Kirtans*) in praise of Lord Vishnu.

On Nirjala Ekadashi, donating a water-filled *Kalash* (pot), an umbrella, clothing, and fruits is considered an act of immense spiritual merit.

Thereafter, observe the fast throughout the day, and on the following day, break the fast (*Parana*) after ritually feeding Brahmins.
