School at 7 AM, back home at 2 PM. A quick meal, followed by tutoring at 3 PM. Dance or cricket class at 5 PM, and then school homework in the evening. Does your child's routine look something like this, too? If so, pause for a moment and consider: are you inadvertently turning your child into a 'robot' instead of a human being?

Mental Fatigue and Over-Scheduling
In today's world, every parent desires for their child to excel in everything, academics and sports alike. Driven by this ambition, we knowingly or unknowingly pack our children's entire day with classes and activities to such an extent that they find no time even for themselves. This phenomenon is known as 'over-scheduling.' Constantly rushing from one task to another leaves a child's mind exhausted.
Crying Without Cause and Constant Lethargy
Have you noticed that your child has recently started getting agitated over trivial matters? Do they often appear tired and lethargic, or do they burst into tears without any apparent reason? These are all signs that your child is overburdened with activities. When children do not get the opportunity to play, rest, or simply sit in peace doing nothing—all on their own terms—their minds become stressed, and irritability takes root in their temperament.
A New Trick for Smart Parents
'Free time' is crucial for a child's mental development. Yes, go ahead—let them get bored once in a while. It is precisely when children are bored that they begin to think of new things, allowing their creativity to emerge. They should be given the chance to run around in a park without any strict rules, play in the dirt, or simply spend time with their toys however they please.

Topping the Class Is Not a Guarantee of Success
Naturally, school and academics are vital, and teaching children new skills is certainly a commendable endeavor. However, there must be a healthy balance amidst all of this. Remember, childhood is not a race in which a child must come first at all costs; it is a beautiful phase of life that needs to be lived joyfully. Lighten your children's schedules a little, let them breathe freely, and then watch how that lovely smile of theirs returns.
