Parenting Tips: If your child also drinks milk from a bottle, then keep these special things in mind..

Bottle-feeding your baby can sometimes seem convenient, but it also increases the risks of infections, digestive and dental problems. Therefore, it's crucial to use bottles safely.

1. Bottle and nipple cleaning is essential.
Bacteria breed rapidly in bottles.
Wash the bottle thoroughly with warm water and baby bottle cleaner after every feed.
Clean the nipple inside and out.
Sterilize the bottle and nipple by boiling or using a sterilizer at least once a day.

2. Choose BPA-free or glass bottles over plastic bottles.
BPA is a harmful chemical that can enter your baby's body.
Always choose BPA-free, food-grade, or glass bottles.
Replace bottles that appear scratched or cloudy immediately.

3. Maintain the correct milk temperature.
Milk that is too hot can burn your baby's mouth.
Use lukewarm water to warm the bottle.
Don't heat milk in the microwave; it causes uneven heating.

Check the temperature by putting a few drops on your wrist before giving it to your baby.

4. Don't put your baby to sleep with a bottle.
Leaving a bottle in a sleeping baby's mouth can cause ear infections, choking, and tooth decay.
Always feed your baby while sitting on your lap and remove the bottle as soon as it's finished.

5. Choose the right nipple flow.
Too fast a flow can cause your baby to cough or the milk to go down the wrong tube.
Too slow a flow can tire your baby and cause gas.
Choose a slow, medium, or fast flow nipple based on your baby's age.

6. Don't refeed.
Milk consumed by your baby becomes teeming with bacteria.
Discard any leftover milk immediately after 20–30 minutes.

7. Wean your baby off the bottle gradually.
As your baby grows (after 1 year), introduce them to drinking from a cup or sippy cup. This improves dental health and reduces the risk of infection.

Bottle feeding is not wrong, but it's crucial to maintain cleanliness, the right bottle, the right nipple, temperature, and baby's safety. By following these simple steps, you can ensure safe, healthy, and comfortable feeding for your baby.
