The Putrada Ekadashi (Paush Putrada Ekadashi 2025 Date), falling on December 30th, is the last Ekadashi of the year 2025. On this day, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi are worshipped. Milk-based sweets are offered to the deities as prasad (offering). Therefore, coconut rabri is a great option for the Putrada Ekadashi offering.

Coconut rabri is a delicious and traditional Indian dessert, known for its velvety texture and the fresh taste and aroma of coconut. It is much lighter and more refreshing than regular rabri. Let's learn the easy and best recipe for making it (Nariyal Rabri Recipe).
Ingredients
Milk - 1 liter (full-cream milk is best)
Fresh coconut - 1 cup (grated)
Sugar - ½ cup (or to taste)
Cardamom powder - ½ teaspoon
Saffron strands - 8-10 (soaked in 2 tablespoons of warm milk)
Chopped nuts - 2 tablespoons (almonds, pistachios, cashews)
Instructions
Pour the milk into a heavy-bottomed pan and let it boil over medium heat. Once the milk boils, reduce the heat to low. Stir it occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom. Cook the milk until it reduces to half of its original volume.
While the milk is cooking, remove the dark outer layer of the fresh coconut and grate it finely. You can also grind it lightly in a blender if you prefer.
Once the milk has reduced by half and looks creamy, add the grated coconut and sugar. Mix well and cook on low heat for another 5-7 minutes. The rabri will thicken quickly after adding the coconut.

Now add the saffron milk and cardamom powder. Saffron gives the rabri a beautiful light yellow color and a wonderful aroma. Once the mixture reaches a custard-like consistency, turn off the heat. Add the chopped nuts on top. Keep in mind that the rabri will thicken further as it cools, so don't let it dry out too much.
