Guidelines for Placing Khatu Shyam's Image: In Sanatan Dharma, Lord Khatu Shyam is worshipped as the deity of the Kali Yuga. It is believed that worshipping Him with a sincere heart fulfills devotees' wishes and resolves life's troubles. The Khatu Shyam Temple in Rajasthan's Sikar district has become a world-renowned pilgrimage site, attracting thousands to lakhs of devotees daily. However, many people are unable to visit the temple in person. Consequently, a large number of devotees install a picture or idol of Khatu Shyam in their homes. Yet, according to Vastu and religious beliefs, there are specific rules regarding the placement and worship of the image, and adhering to them is considered auspicious.

Where to Place Khatu Shyam's Image
According to Vastu Shastra, placing Khatu Shyam's image in the North-East direction (Ishaan Kon) of the home temple or prayer room is considered most auspicious. This direction is regarded as the abode of the gods, and worshipping deities placed here fosters the flow of positive energy. If the North-East corner is unavailable, the image may also be placed in the East. Ensure the image is located in a spot that is cleaned regularly and where worship can be performed without hindrance.
Where Not to Place the Image
According to religious beliefs, the image of Khatu Shyam should never be placed in the bedroom, kitchen, or near the bathroom. Additionally, one should avoid placing the image under a staircase or in areas with constant foot traffic where maintaining due reverence would be difficult. Also, ensure that the image or idol of Lord Khatu Shyam is never placed directly on the floor.
Points to Remember During Worship
Purity of mind, speech, and action holds special significance when worshipping Khatu Shyam. Bathe and wear clean clothes before commencing worship. Offer flowers, sandalwood paste, incense, a lamp (diya), and *prasad* (sacred offering) to the deity. Offering roses and *ittar* (perfume) to Shyam Baba is considered particularly auspicious. Chanting the mantra "Om Shri Shyam Devaya Namah" or reciting hymns dedicated to Shyam Baba during worship is considered beneficial. Devotees may offer *bhog* (food offerings) according to their means and distribute the *prasad* among family members after the worship concludes.
**The Significance of Regular *Aarti* and Devotion**
According to religious beliefs, merely placing a picture of Lord Khatu Shyam in the home is not enough; it is also essential to light a lamp, perform *aarti*, and remember the deity with reverence every day. This practice fosters a positive atmosphere in the home and brings mental peace. Furthermore, it ensures that the family remains blessed and everyone prospers.

**Devotion is as Important as Rituals**
Religious experts believe that while the direction and rituals of worship hold significance, devotion and faith are paramount. When a devotee remembers Lord Khatu Shyam with a sincere heart, they attain spiritual energy and mental contentment. Placing the picture of Khatu Shyam in the north-east or east direction of the house is considered auspicious. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness, performing regular *aarti*, and upholding a spirit of devotion during worship are essential. Adhering to these practices can create an environment filled with positivity, happiness, prosperity, and spiritual growth within the home.
