PM Kisan Yojana: Haven't received the ₹2,000 installment (the 24th one)? Could you have made any of these mistakes?

There is important news for farmers awaiting the 24th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme. Today, October 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 24th installment of the scheme from Banaskantha, Gujarat. Under this, Rs 2,000 has been transferred to the bank accounts of eligible farmers. However, the release of the installment does not guarantee that the funds have reached every farmer's account. Some farmers have not yet received the installment amount; if you fall into this category, it may be due to certain errors or oversights.

Which farmers might not receive the 24th installment?
1. Those with incomplete e-KYC
Completing e-KYC is mandatory for farmers registered under the PM Kisan scheme. If a farmer has not yet completed their e-KYC, their installment may be withheld. Farmers can complete the e-KYC process from home via the official PM Kisan website using an OTP. If the process cannot be completed via OTP, it can also be done through biometric authentication at the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).

2. Those with unupdated land records
The benefits of the scheme are available only to farming families who have cultivable land registered in their names. This requires land verification, also known as 'land seeding.' If a farmer's land documents have not been verified, or if the 'land seeding' status on the portal appears as 'pending,' the Rs 2,000 installment may be held up. Such farmers can get their land records updated by contacting their state's Agriculture Department or the relevant revenue official.

3. Those whose bank accounts are not linked to their Aadhaar
Funds under the PM Kisan scheme are disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into bank accounts that are linked (seeded) with an Aadhaar number. If a farmer's bank account is not linked to their Aadhaar, or if the NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) mapping is incomplete, the payment cannot be processed. Please note that simply having an Aadhaar number linked to a bank account may not be sufficient; the account must also be correctly mapped for DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) via the NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India). Farmers can verify the status of this mapping through their bank branch or the India Post Payments Bank.

4. Multiple members of the same family receiving benefits
The government has identified instances where more than one member of the same farming family is receiving PM Kisan funds—for example, cases where installments are credited to the accounts of both a husband and wife, or where benefits are claimed in the names of both an adult family member and a minor. According to the official portal, payments in such suspicious cases have been temporarily withheld pending a physical verification.

5. Farmers who acquired land after February 1, 2019
The government has clarified on the PM Kisan portal that the eligibility of certain beneficiaries who acquired land ownership after February 1, 2019, is currently under review. In such cases, the disbursement of installments may be withheld until a physical verification is completed.

6. High-pension recipients and professionals
Retired or superannuated pensioners receiving a monthly pension of ₹10,000 or more are generally ineligible for the scheme. Furthermore, practicing professionals—such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants, and architects—are excluded from the scheme. Individuals who have held or currently hold constitutional positions, as well as ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), former or incumbent mayors of municipal corporations, and chairpersons of District Panchayats (Zila Panchayats), are also excluded under the eligibility criteria.
