The teaser for the upcoming film ‘Prahaar’ has been released. The film is set against the backdrop of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Rajkummar Rao plays the role of lawyer Ujjwal Nikam—the very lawyer who waged a long battle to secure the death penalty for terrorist Ajmal Kasab.

What is in the teaser?
The one-minute-53-second teaser shows Rajkummar Rao portraying lawyer Ujjwal Nikam. He makes every possible effort in court to ensure Ajmal Kasab, the accused in the 26/11 attacks, is sent to the gallows. He presents compelling arguments, questioning the court as to why there is a delay in executing Kasab when photographic and video evidence of him carrying out the attack is public knowledge.

When will the film be released?
Rajkummar Rao appears in a powerful role in the teaser. Apart from him, the teaser offers a glimpse of actress Wamiqa Gabbi. Jaideep Ahlawat also features in a strong role. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on August 7, 2026.

Rajkummar Rao to star in Sourav Ganguly’s biopic too
Previously, Rajkummar Rao portrayed Mumbai lawyer Shahid Azmi, who used to fight cases for individuals wrongfully imprisoned on fabricated charges. Rajkummar Rao is also set to appear in a biopic of former cricketer Sourav Ganguly; he is currently learning cricket for the role.
