Silk saree purity test methods: The Saree is one of the favorite outfits of Indian women. And if there are silk sarees in it, then what is the matter? The shine and softness of silk make it perfect for every special occasion. From weddings to formal events, silk sarees look good on every occasion. But when it comes to buying them, it becomes difficult to differentiate between real and fake. In such a situation, people often buy fake sarees at expensive prices and they also get spoiled quickly. In such a situation, you must check the purity of your saree with the right information. Here we are telling you 5 easy ways, by which you can know whether your silk saree is real or fake.

Easy ways to identify real and fake silk sarees -

Tactile Test - When you touch real silk, it feels slightly cold and soft. It has a slight grip, while fake silk is usually more smooth and tough.

Burn Test- If you want to be completely sure about the purity, then do a burn test. Take a small thread and burn it. If the silk is real, then it will smell like burning hair and after burning, the ash will be brittle and black. On the other hand, fake silk will smell like plastic when burnt and the ash will be thick.

Water Test- When water is poured on a real silk saree, it absorbs slowly, whereas, on fake silk, the water flows away immediately or scatters like pearls. This method is an easy and correct way to check the purity of silk.

Crinkle Test- If you want to check the authenticity of silk, then try squeezing it lightly. Real silk has natural elasticity and forms light creases, which disappear soon. On the other hand, the creases in fake silk remain for a long time or can be permanent.

Ring Test- Take out one corner of the silk from inside the ring and see. Real silk will easily pass through the ring, whereas fake silk may get stuck somewhere.

With these simple methods, you can easily test the purity of your silk saree and avoid fake sarees.
