Ekadashi holds special significance in Hinduism. There are 24 Ekadashis throughout the year. Ekadashis occur twice in a month. It is believed that on Ekadashi, special prayers are offered to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, the protector of the universe. The month of Kartik is considered very sacred. Consequently, Ekadashi of the month of Kartik holds special significance. Rama Ekadashi is coming soon, on October 17th. Worshipping Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi on this day is especially fruitful. According to Ujjain's Acharya Anand Bhardwaj, measures taken on this day based on the zodiac sign ensure the blessings of Lakshmi and Narayana throughout the year.
1. Aries people should offer red flowers to appease Lord Vishnu on Rama Ekadashi.
2. Taurus people should donate white things on Rama Ekadashi. It is believed that donating white things on this day brings happiness and prosperity.
3. Geminis should offer green clothes to Lord Vishnu on this day. This pleases Hari Narayan.
4. Cancerians should offer Kheer (rice pudding) to please Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi on Rama Ekadashi. It is believed that offering Kheer brings happiness to the home.
5. Leos should offer yellow clothes to Lord Vishnu on Ekadashi. They should also wear yellow clothes themselves. This pleases the Lord.
6. Virgos struggling with financial difficulties should offer saffron along with white sweets to please Lord Vishnu on Rama Ekadashi. Doing so will bring peace and happiness to the home throughout the year, and Goddess Lakshmi will reside there.
7. Librans should donate white things on this day. This increases love in married life and brings good fortune.
8. Scorpios should donate jaggery on this day to promote their careers and businesses. This will ensure their continued blessings from Lord Vishnu.
9. Sagittariuses should donate yellow clothes and yellow sandalwood to receive Lord Vishnu's blessings on Rama Ekadashi. Also, donate yellow fruits.
