Religious Trees: These plants have been given great importance in the scriptures...

Hindu Religious Plants: Trees and plants are usually considered simply a part of nature, but in Indian tradition, they are not only seen as adding to the beauty of nature but also as a source of divine and spiritual energy. Many religious texts describe plants whose worship is believed to alleviate planetary afflictions and reduce life's misfortunes. It is believed that worshipping these sacred trees brings good fortune. Trees and plants hold great importance in Hindu tradition. They play a significant role in our health as well as in enhancing our prosperity.

Tulsi (Holy Basil)

Tulsi is considered a manifestation of Goddess Lakshmi. The Garuda Purana states that poverty cannot enter a house where Tulsi is worshipped daily. Scriptures say that Tulsi increases positive energy, and circumambulating it removes financial difficulties.

Peepal (Sacred Fig)

The Peepal tree is believed to be the abode of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. In the tenth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna himself says, "Among trees, I am the Peepal." Worshipping the Peepal tree is believed to reduce ancestral curses and Saturn-related troubles, and alleviate sorrow, illness, and mental unrest.

Bel (Bael)

The Bel tree is extremely dear to Lord Shiva. The Skanda Purana states that offering Bel leaves to a Shivalinga destroys all sins and removes financial difficulties. Its three leaves are considered symbolic of the Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva).

Amla (Indian Gooseberry)

The worship of the Amla tree holds special significance in Hindu tradition. The Padma Purana considers its worship as meritorious as giving a thousand cows in charity. Lighting a lamp under the Amla tree is considered auspicious and brings good fortune.

Banana

The banana tree is considered the abode of Lord Vishnu and is also called a symbol of the Guru (spiritual teacher). The use of banana leaves and stems is considered auspicious during weddings, yajnas (fire rituals), and other auspicious occasions. It is said that in a house where the banana plant is worshipped and cared for, discord, poverty, and financial problems are kept at bay.
