Film producer Vishesh Bhatt announced this news by sharing a photo with Shabana Azmi on Instagram. He stated that it is a great honor for him to have a veteran actress like Shabana Azmi join the project and noted that her presence would add a new dimension to the story. She will be seen playing a villainous role in the film.

**'Awarapan 2' Star Cast**

Emraan Hashmi is making a comeback as 'Shivam', his iconic character from the past, in this film. Actress Disha Patani is collaborating with Vishesh Films for the first time through this project. The film is directed by Nitin Kakkar, with the story written by Bilal Siddiqi.

**Shooting and Locations**

The film has been shot across beautiful and magnificent locations in Rajasthan and Southeast Asia. The makers state that while the film is mounted on a grand scale, its narrative strikes a perfect balance between emotion and excellent music. It is all set for theatrical release on August 14, 2026.

**Previous Villainous Roles**

In an interview, Shabana Azmi mentioned that she had previously played a villainous character—morally speaking—in director B.R. Ishara's film *Log Kya Kahenge*, where she murders her stepson. However, she clarified that she was not a full-fledged villain in the traditional sense. Apart from that, she also played the role of a fake witch in the film *Makdee*.
