Work on the sequel began shortly after the release of *Ikka*. According to an *India Today* report, scripting for *Ikka 2* is currently underway. An actor associated with the film stated, "Scripting for *Ikka 2* has begun. Sunny Deol will retain the character of Ikka in the story. However, the plot of the sequel will be entirely new, and Akshaye Khanna will not be part of it. Work is expected to commence next year; currently, the script and theme are being developed."

**A Second Innings After *Gadar 2***
Sunny Deol’s acting career entered a new phase following the release of *Gadar 2* in 2023. Since then—and following the announcement of *Border 2* earlier this year—the actor has a long lineup of projects.
