Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's film "Main Hoon Na" was released in 2004. Sushmita Sen played the role of chemistry teacher Miss Chandni Chopra. Her chemistry with Shah Rukh and the red sari she wore in one scene are still considered iconic. Recently, Sushmita shared an anecdote from the film's shooting, when director Farah Khan told her that her character would wear a sari throughout the film.

On Divya Jain's podcast, Sushmita Sen said, "The red sari I was given was extremely cold at the time. Farah Khan installed a huge storm fan over it because Chandni's hair needed to fly all the time. If Chandni is in the classroom, her hair is flying; if she's crying, her hair is flying. Even if it's raining, her hair is flying." This was an essential requirement for the character.
She had to wear a sari throughout the film.
She further said, "When Farah told me I would be wearing a sari throughout the film, I said, 'Please don't do this to me. This is my first film with Shah Rukh Khan. I want to wear 50,000 different costumes.' But she said, 'Trust me, you'll be in a sari, and that's it.' The day I wore that red sari and went out, Farah looked at me and said, 'Have you tied the lungi? Geeta, take it back.' Geeta then tied the sari too low. I was worried the whole time it wouldn't fall off. The pallu was also kept too long."

'Main Hoon Na' was released in 2004.
'Main Hoon Na' was written and directed by Farah Khan. This film marked her directorial debut. The film also starred Sunil Shetty, Amrita Rao, and Zayed Khan. Initially, this film was going to be released in 2003, but 'Main Hoon Na' was released on 30 April 2004 and became a big hit at the box office.
