Swastika: 99% of people draw the Swastika incorrectly; learn the correct way here..

In India, the swastika is considered an extremely auspicious and benevolent symbol, but surprisingly, 99 percent of people don't know the correct way to draw it. People draw swastikas on their doorsteps, places of worship, temples, shops, or before any auspicious occasion, but due to mistakes in direction, design, and materials, instead of receiving its auspicious benefits, it can have the opposite effect. According to religious beliefs, an incorrectly drawn swastika can attract negative energy, which people associate with bad omens.

The word swastika is derived from the Sanskrit words "su" and "asti," meaning "may there be well-being" or "may there be auspiciousness." A true swastika has four equal arms that rotate clockwise. Many people unknowingly draw an inverted or crooked swastika, which is not considered auspicious in the scriptures. A counter-clockwise symbol is used in tantric or special rituals, but its use is considered forbidden in normal household life and worship.

The materials used to draw the swastika are also of great importance. For worship or auspicious occasions, it is considered auspicious to draw the swastika with turmeric, kumkum, sandalwood paste, roli, sindoor, or cow dung. A swastika drawn with a pencil, pen, black ink, or broken chalk is not considered religiously correct. Many people hastily draw the swastika anywhere on the wall or floor, whereas it should only be drawn in a clean and sacred place.

The correct time and place for drawing the swastika are also very important. It should always be drawn after bathing, with a calm mind and positive thoughts. The morning time, especially after sunrise, is considered the most auspicious time to draw the swastika. When drawing a swastika on the door, ensure that it is at eye level and is not broken or incomplete. A broken or faded swastika is considered a sign of misfortune.

Another major mistake people make is using the swastika as a decorative element. The swastika is not a design or a fashion symbol, but a spiritual symbol. Drawing it as a joke, for show, or in the wrong place diminishes its sanctity. After the puja (prayer ritual), trampling on the swastika or allowing it to become dirty is also considered inauspicious.

A properly drawn swastika brings positive energy, happiness, peace, and prosperity to the home. It protects against negative forces and keeps the environment pure. Therefore, it is essential to pay close attention to the direction, size, materials, and intention when drawing a swastika. Even a small oversight can negate its auspicious effects, so the next time you draw a swastika, follow the correct method and avoid any bad omens.
