The Eachanari Vinayagar Temple, located in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, is a renowned center of devotion and faith in Lord Ganesha. Situated approximately 12 kilometers from the city, this temple attracts devotees from across India and abroad.

It is believed that merely visiting this temple and seeking Lord Ganesha's blessings can alleviate life's troubles, sorrows, and obstacles. The serene atmosphere, ancient history, and spiritual energy make this temple particularly significant for devotees. Built in the 16th century, this temple is considered a divine abode of Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, where a large number of devotees arrive daily to seek blessings.
The 6-Foot Lord Ganesha
Located on NH-209 in Coimbatore, the Eachanari Vinayagar Temple is a beautiful example of Dravidian architecture. The temple houses a massive idol of Lord Ganesha, approximately 6 feet tall and 3 feet in diameter, which is considered to be self-manifested. This idol is the focal point of deep devotion for the devotees.
The 16th-Century Connection
An interesting mythological story is associated with the temple's founding. It is said that in the 16th century, this idol was being transported from Madurai to the Perur Patteeswarar Temple near Coimbatore. When the bullock cart reached Eachanari village, its axle suddenly broke. Despite numerous attempts, the idol could not be moved further and became embedded in the ground. Considering this to be Lord Ganesha's will, a temple was built at that very spot.
All Obstacles Removed
Devotees believe that Lord Ganesha himself wished to reside here. Therefore, it is believed that visiting this temple removes all obstacles in life. A grand celebration is held here, especially during Ganesh Chaturthi. On this day, a Ganapati Homam (fire ritual) is performed in the morning, in which a large number of devotees participate.

Temple Opening Hours
The Eachanari Vinayagar Temple is open from 5 AM to 9 PM, and entry is free. This temple is not only a center of religious faith but also a vibrant symbol of Dravidian culture and tradition. The area around the temple also boasts tourist attractions such as the Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, Siruvani Waterfalls, and Marudhamalai Hill Temple, which attract visitors.
