A lunar eclipse is a celestial event, but it holds special significance in astrology. The year 2026 marks the first lunar eclipse of the year, just before the festival of colors, Holi. This eclipse will be visible at different times in different countries. It will also be visible in India. However, its duration will be quite short, lasting only a few minutes.

Pandit Vinay Pandey, Professor in the Department of Astrology at BHU, explained that the eclipse on March 3rd is a partial lunar eclipse. While the eclipse will begin at 3:20 pm and end at 6:47 pm, in India, the eclipse will begin with moonrise at 5:59 pm and last until 6:47 pm.

The Sutak period will begin early.
The Sutak period begins nine hours before the lunar eclipse. During the Sutak period, cooking and performing religious rituals in temples are prohibited. With the beginning of the Sutak period, the doors of temples are also closed. Religious belief holds that chanting and meditation hold special significance during an eclipse.

The eclipse will also be visible in these countries.
In addition to India, this lunar eclipse will be visible at different times in East Asia, Australia, the Pacific Ocean, the North Atlantic Ocean, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Russia, Kazakhstan, the United States, Brazil, Greenland, and Afghanistan.

Bath and Donate After the Lunar Eclipse
After the lunar eclipse, bathing in the Ganges is a must. If you cannot bathe in the Ganges, pour a few drops of Ganges water into a bucket at home and bathe with that water. After bathing in the Ganges, donations should also be made to the needy. Additionally, chanting and meditation should also be practiced during the eclipse. This helps in the accomplishment of mantras.

Affects All Zodiac Signs
The lunar eclipse directly affects all 12 zodiac signs. Some zodiac signs will also be adversely affected. This eclipse will bring more trouble to Aries, Virgo, and Capricorn. Aries people will experience mental stress. Virgos are likely to suffer financial losses. Capricorns will face illnesses after this eclipse.
