The day of Chaitra Purnima is considered extremely sacred, as it marks the day Lord Hanuman was born to Mother Anjani and the Monkey King, Kesari. Consequently, this day is celebrated with immense reverence as *Hanuman Janmotsav* (Hanuman's Birth Celebration). Devotees observe fasts on this occasion, and an atmosphere of devotion and enthusiasm prevails across the entire country. On Hanuman Jayanti, special prayers, rituals, and religious ceremonies are conducted in temples. It is believed that worshipping Lord Bajrangbali with a sincere heart on this day invokes His blessings and helps resolve life's troubles. Devotees offer special prayers on this day to seek the fulfillment of their wishes. According to Acharya Anand Bhardwaj of Ujjain, if a special *Bhog* (sacred food offering) is presented to Lord Hanuman on this day, Lord Bajrangbali becomes pleased swiftly and grants devotees their desired outcomes.

According to the Vedic *Panchang* (almanac), the *Purnima Tithi* (full moon phase) of the month of Chaitra will commence on April 1, 2026, at 7:06 AM and conclude on April 2 at 7:41 AM. Consequently, based on the *Udayatithi* (the lunar phase prevailing at sunrise), Chaitra Purnima will be celebrated on April 2 this year, and the festival of Hanuman Jayanti will also be observed on April 2.
