This cruise is part of the Delhi government's riverfront tourism and recreation plan and will operate upstream on the Yamuna River from Wazirabad to Sonia Vihar. When will the Yamuna River cruise service start?
The Yamuna River cruise service in Delhi is expected to start in February 2026, the second month of the year. It may be inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
How many people can travel?
The round trip of this cruise, which will operate from Wazirabad to Sonia Vihar on the Yamuna River, will be approximately 1 hour long. It will accommodate about 40 people at a time. Importantly, passengers will get a wonderful and luxurious experience at affordable prices. Food, entertainment, and music facilities will also be available for passengers.
Emphasis on safety
Authorities have also emphasized safety on this river cruise. All necessary safety equipment, such as life jackets and a public announcement system, will be available on the cruise so that passengers can be informed immediately in any situation.

For the convenience of passengers, the government is also planning to build several facilities along the riverbank. These will include parking and recreational areas so that people do not face any problems reaching the cruise and spending time there. For your information, this section of the Yamuna is being developed under National Waterway-110. This waterway is approximately 1,080 kilometers long, extending from Jagatpur in Delhi to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. The government is planning to develop cruise tourism on about 4 kilometers of this waterway. Here, people will be able to enjoy electric and solar hybrid boats.
