This 2.5-kilometer-long natural trail, stretching from Nakki Lake to Sunset Point in Mount Abu, is an excellent spot for jungle trekking. Starting at Nakki Lake and leading directly to Sunset Point, this route is a favorite among nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts.
The route to Salgaon—located approximately 6 kilometers from Mount Abu—passes through a dense forest area, making it an excellent choice for a hike. The Salgaon pond serves as a primary water source for wildlife, where animals of various species can often be seen quenching their thirst. By walking to the watchtower near the pond, you can experience the thrill of jungle trekking while enjoying the natural scenery.
Situated within the Mount Abu wildlife area, this man-made pond was constructed during the British era and is known as 'Trevor's Tank,' named after a British official. A variety of wildlife, including crocodiles, colorful fish, grey langurs, and sloth bears, can easily be spotted here. A ticket issued by the Forest Department is mandatory to explore this area, and you can enjoy breathtaking views from the vantage points located on the hills overlooking the pond.
