Vastu Shastra: Never, under any circumstances, perform these 5 actions after sunset; Goddess Lakshmi may become displeased..

After the hustle and bustle of the day, as the sun sets, it marks a time when nature quiets down and positive energy enters the home. In Hinduism and Vastu Shastra, the evening hours are referred to as 'Sandhya Kaal'—a sacred period dedicated to the worship of deities.

Our elders often admonish us against sleeping or sweeping the house during the evening hours. Is this merely superstition? Or are there deeper Vastu and scientific reasons hidden behind these beliefs?

1. Sweeping and Mopping the House
According to Vastu, cleaning the house during the evening hours is akin to driving Goddess Lakshmi out of the home. It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi enters the household at sunset. If you sweep the floors at this specific time, you effectively push out the home's positive energy and prosperity.

2. Financial Transactions
Lending money or borrowing funds during the evening hours is considered inauspicious. It is said that exchanging money after sunset causes Goddess Lakshmi to depart for another's abode, leading to financial scarcity within your own home.

3. Touching or Watering Plants
Plants, too, possess life, and they enter a state of rest after sunset. Touching them, plucking their leaves, or watering them in the evening is akin to causing them distress, which subsequently creates a 'Vastu Dosha' (Vastu defect) within the home.

4. Donating Curd or White-Colored Items
According to Vastu and Astrology, one should refrain from donating white-colored items—such as curd, milk, or salt—after sunset. White substances are associated with the planets Venus and the Moon. Donating these items in the evening is believed to diminish the peace and prosperity of the household.

5. Sleeping in the Evening
Except the sick or the elderly, a healthy individual sleeping during the evening hours is seen as an invitation to laziness and poverty. This specific time is meant for meditation, prayer, and worship—not for sleep.
