When it comes to Dubai, it's impossible not to mention the Burj Khalifa! Towering 828 meters high, this building, which speaks to the sky, isn't just a tourist destination, but a living symbol of Dubai's prestige, speed, and success. In fact, everyone dreams of seeing it at least once.
It opened to the public in 2010 and has been a favorite of tourists worldwide ever since. But few have ever wondered why and how this building was built. Let us tell you why and how this wonder was built and what lies within.

How did the idea for its construction come about?
The primary reason for its construction was revenue. The Dubai government didn't want to rely solely on oil for revenue. They wanted to create something that would attract investors and tourists from around the world.
It was for this purpose that the dream of building a vertical city was conceived. The idea was to create a vertical city, housing homes, offices, luxurious hotels, and recreational destinations all under one roof.
How was this marvel built?
Work on the Burj Khalifa began in 2004, and you'll be surprised to learn that such a massive building was completed in just five and a half years, by October 2009.
Adrian Smith and Bill Baker of the renowned architectural firm SOM designed the building. It is designed to withstand strong winds and weather changes.
The Burj Khalifa's Specialty:
26,000 heavy glass panels have been installed on the exterior of the building. More than 300 specialized craftsmen were brought in from China to install them. Its spire is made of 4,000 tons of steel. The remarkable thing is that it was not constructed from the outside, but was fitted from within the building itself.
Talking about its amenities, approximately 9.4 lakh liters of water are supplied daily. It has 57 elevators, including the world's tallest service elevator, which can carry a weight of up to 5,000 kg.
How much does the Burj Khalifa earn?
The construction of this building cost approximately $1.4 billion. It was named in honor of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler of Abu Dhabi, who provided significant financial support for the project.
Speaking of its revenue, the building earns approximately $621 million (approximately Rs. 5,154 crores) annually just by selling tickets to tourists. Furthermore, the apartments here are priced in the crores, contributing billions of dollars to Dubai's real estate market.
What's inside the Burj Khalifa?
On its first floor, there is a luxurious hotel owned by a renowned brand. The upper floors are occupied by private apartments designed by Giorgio Armani himself.

There's a magnificent restaurant on the 122nd floor. Dining amidst the clouds is a truly unique experience.
Observation decks are located on the 124th, 125th, and 148th floors, offering 360-degree views of Dubai.
There are also several large corporate offices, a spa, a gym, and a swimming pool, all of which are magnificent in their own right, making it a true masterpiece.
