The Ekadashi tithi (lunar day) is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Worshipping Lord Vishnu on Ekadashi leads to the fulfillment of one's cherished desires. According to religious scriptures, the Vedas and Puranas, twenty-four Ekadashis occur within a year for the welfare of humanity. Observing the Ekadashi fast according to prescribed rituals resolves all ongoing life problems and ensures the perpetual grace of Lord Vishnu. Among all Ekadashis, Nirjala Ekadashi holds unique significance. As the most arduous fast—yet one that yields the merits of all Ekadashis combined—Nirjala Ekadashi offers double the benefits to devotees due to its occurrence under specific *Nakshatras* (constellations) and *Yogas* (astrological combinations).

**This One is Especially Significant**
Pandit Shridhar Shastri explains the importance of Nirjala Ekadashi, which falls during the *Shukla Paksha* (waxing phase of the moon) of the Jyeshtha month. He notes that while there are twenty-four Ekadashis in a year—twelve in *Krishna Paksha* and twelve in *Shukla Paksha*—the Nirjala Ekadashi of Jyeshtha *Shukla Paksha* is considered the most significant of them all. Observing this fast correctly can turn unfavorable situations favorable, resolving issues such as obstacles in tasks, near-completion projects going awry, financial hardships, and incurable ailments. In the year 2026, Nirjala Ekadashi will fall on Thursday, June 25. Waking up during *Brahma Muhurta* (the auspicious pre-dawn period) on June 25, bathing, taking a vow (*Sankalp*) to fast, and observing a waterless (*Nirjala*) fast while silently worshipping Lord Vishnu throughout the day brings immense spiritual benefit.
**What Needs to be Done**
Pandit Shridhar Shastri points out that, by a fortunate coincidence, this Nirjala Ekadashi coincides with *Shiv Yoga* and *Swati Nakshatra*. Performing religious rituals during *Shiv Yoga* and *Swati Nakshatra* yields manifold benefits—far exceeding the usual rewards. To receive the special grace of Lord Vishnu, one should worship Him and recite sacred texts such as *Stotras* and the *Vishnu Sahasranama*, or chant *Beej Mantras*. On this day, the fast should be observed strictly according to the methods prescribed in the scriptures. Coincidentally, Nirjala Ekadashi falls on a Thursday; observing this fast will therefore provide relief from planetary afflictions, domestic discord, and obstacles in one's endeavors, while also yielding the spiritual benefits associated with observing all the Ekadashis.
