Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and director Ashutosh Gowariker have made a significant change to the casting of their upcoming sports drama film, 'Lalkara'. Actor Siddhant Gupta has joined the project following Farhan Akhtar's departure.

Why did Farhan leave the project?
According to a report by *Bollywood Hungama*, Farhan Akhtar stepped away from the film because its shooting schedule clashed with the filming of a biopic based on music composer R.D. Burman.
Siddhant to replace Farhan
Siddhant Gupta will now take over the role originally intended for Farhan Akhtar in 'Lalkara'. Siddhant has garnered considerable praise for his performances in the series *Jubilee* and *Freedom at Midnight*.
He is expected to play a pivotal role alongside Aamir Khan in this film, which is being touted as one of the biggest sports dramas of recent years.
"No matter how long you've been in the industry..." – Suriya speaks on the crisis during *Karuppu*; praises his wife for her support.
Actor begins preparations
Media reports indicate that Siddhant will play one of the lead roles (a parallel lead) in the film. This marks another major milestone in his career following his recent success on streaming platforms.
It is reported that the actor has already begun preparing for the role, although the makers have not yet made an official announcement.
What is the film based on?
'Lalkara' is based on the life of cricketer Lala Amarnath, the first Indian cricketer to score a Test century for the country.
Aamir Khan will portray this legendary player in the film. The movie will depict his journey—both on and off the field—against the backdrop of pre- and post-independence India.

Ashutosh and Aamir to reunite after 25 years
With this project, Aamir Khan will collaborate with director Ashutosh Gowariker again after a long hiatus of 25 years. The duo previously worked together on the Oscar-nominated classic *Lagaan* (2001).
