Winter Clothes Washing Tips: In winter, thick clothes like jackets, coats, and sweaters tend to get dirty quickly, and getting them dry-cleaned repeatedly is expensive. Digital creator Poonam Diwani has shared an easy home trick that allows you to clean your winter clothes at home, making them look as good as new. Poonam often shares simple and effective hacks on her social media handles. Now, she has explained that this method not only makes clothes look brand new but also saves both time and money. Let's find out how.

Why does this trick work?
The digital creator explains that dirt accumulates quickly around the neck, sleeves, front, and pockets of winter clothes. Rubbing them vigorously damages the fabric, causes pilling, and makes them lose their shine. This trick cleans the clothes without rubbing, meaning there is absolutely no damage to the fabric, and your clothes become clean and look brand new in just one wash.
Things you will need:
Lukewarm water
Shampoo (not detergent)
Half a sachet of Eno (fruit salt) and
Conditioner or vinegar
How to wash thick winter clothes at home?
First, take enough lukewarm water so that you can comfortably put your hand in it. Hot water is not suitable for woolen clothes.
Add a little shampoo instead of detergent; this keeps the clothes soft.
Now, add half a sachet of Eno. The Eno helps remove the dirt without rubbing the clothes.
Soak the jacket/sweater in the water for 10-15 minutes. You will see the water becoming cloudy without any effort. This means the dirt is coming out of the clothes on its own.
Now, do not wring the clothes; just rinse them two or three times with clean water.
After doing this, take water again in a tub and add conditioner or vinegar to it. Soak the garment in this mixture for 4-5 minutes. This keeps the clothes soft and fluffy. Fresh vs. Dried Figs: Which fig is best, dried or fresh? The doctor explained which one offers more benefits.
The Right Way to Dry Clothes
After washing, hang sweaters/jackets on a hanger to dry so they maintain their shape.
Do not use bleach on dark-colored woolen clothes; clean them only with shampoo and conditioner.
If a sweater has lost its shape, lay it flat on a table and spread it out to dry in its original shape. This will help it regain its proper form.

Apart from all this, when the clothes are dry, and you need to iron them, place a piece of silver foil under the iron before pressing. This prevents the clothes from getting too hot and also gives them a beautiful shine.
This way, you can easily clean thick clothes at home. This will save you the expense of dry cleaning and eliminate the fear of damaging your clothes. You can also try this method.
