According to the Hindu calendar, the month of Margashirsha is about to end, and the tenth month of the year, Paush (Push), is about to begin. With the beginning of this month, Kharmas also begin, which prohibits all auspicious ceremonies, such as marriages, tonsure ceremonies, and the sacred thread ceremony. However, worship involving Tulsi is not prohibited, and worship involving Tulsi is considered to be of special importance during this month. It is believed that worshipping Tulsi during the month of Paush brings happiness, prosperity, and good health, as Tulsi is considered sacred in Hinduism and a form of Goddess Lakshmi.

Worship on this day
Pramod Shringari, the pilgrim priest of Baidyanath Jyotirlinga, stated that the month of Margashirsha will end on December 5th, marking the beginning of the month of Paush, and that worshipping Tulsi during this month is essential, as it increases happiness and prosperity in life. He also suggested a special remedy to overcome adversities. Sankranti is on December 16th, but the day before, on the Ekadashi Tithi of the month of Paush, people should write each name of Lord Vishnu's Sahasranama with sandalwood on a Vrinda Tulsi leaf. If a person writes the names on a thousand such leaves in a day and offers them to Lord Vishnu, all life's troubles will end, and only happiness and prosperity will remain.
In addition, the Tirthapurohit has advised offering other things to the Tulsi plant. During the month of Paush, one must offer ghee along with water to the Tulsi plant every day. Additionally, offer a scarf to the Tulsi plant and light a ghee lamp in the evening. This pleases Goddess Lakshmi, ensuring financial hardships are never encountered in the home. Furthermore, donating during the month of Paush is considered highly auspicious, eliminating all planetary influences in one's life.
