The Independence Day celebrations will be held at the Red Fort on August 15, and preparations are in full swing. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police and security agencies are on high alert for the event. Anticipating heavy crowds, the Delhi Police has already issued a traffic advisory, and an advisory regarding the Delhi Metro has also been released. Commuters are urged to allow extra time for their journeys, as mandatory security checks and scanning procedures are in place—a process that will continue until August 16.

The Delhi Metro has made a special announcement regarding travel to the Independence Day celebrations. The DMRC has stated that metro services will commence at 4:00 AM on Independence Day, meaning trains will be available to passengers from that time.
**Metro trains available every 30 minutes**
The DMRC announced that metro services will begin at 4:00 AM at all terminal stations across all lines on Independence Day. This service is intended specifically for guests, invitees, and the general public attending the celebrations. Trains will run at 30-minute intervals until regular metro services begin.
**QR ticket arrangement for invitees**
The Ministry of Defence has arranged for 1.30 lakh special QR code tickets for invitees traveling by metro. Invitees holding valid physical entry cards issued by the Ministry of Defence will be provided with these special QR code tickets at designated metro stations; the Ministry of Defence will bear the cost of travel for these tickets.
The nearest metro stations to the Independence Day celebration venue are Lal Qila (Red Fort), Jama Masjid, and Delhi Gate. Additionally, parking facilities at all Delhi Metro stations will remain closed from 6:00 AM on August 14 until 2:00 PM on August 15, with services resuming after 2:00 PM on Independence Day.
