Catholic Church rules: Can a woman become Pope? If not, what is the reason behind it?

Why Women Cannot Be Pope: Crores of people in the world believe in Christianity and for them the Pope is the biggest religious leader. Whenever there is a discussion about the selection of a new Pope, a question often arises, can a woman become Pope? If not, then what is the reason behind it? Today we will understand the answer to this question in simple language.

According to the rules of the Catholic Church, the Pope can be a person who is a man, has been baptized, and is unmarried. Apart from this, he must be in a big position like a priest or a cardinal in the church. In the tradition till now, women have not been allowed to become priests. This is the main reason why women cannot become Pope.

According to the beliefs of the church, when Jesus Christ chose his disciples, he chose only men. It is believed that from that time onwards it became a rule that priests and then Popes can only be men. The church considers this tradition sacred and still follows this path.

However, there have been some changes in the church over time. Recently, Pope Francis has allowed women to play some roles within the church, such as they can work as readers in religious gatherings. However, the path to the highest position in the church, i.e. the Pope, is still closed to women.

When the Pope is elected, cardinals from all over the world gather in the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. They elect the new Pope through secret ballot. This process is called 'Conclave'. Only men hold the post of Cardinal, so only men participate in the voting. The election of the new Pope is completely secret and according to tradition.

Many people raise the question whether women will also get a chance to become Pope in the future. At present, there is no such indication in the rules of the church. The church believes that its traditions are related to the basic principles of religion, which cannot be changed.
