There is a lot of buzz in film circles regarding producer Farhan Akhtar's upcoming film, *Mirzapur: The Movie*. In particular, actor Jitendra Kumar—who is stepping into the role previously played by Vikrant Massey—has been in the spotlight. Jitendra has spoken openly about his casting in *Mirzapur: The Movie* and shared how he landed the role.

**How did Jitendra join *Mirzapur*?**
Audiences loved the world of the *Mirzapur* web series. Now, *Mirzapur: The Movie* has been created, centering on the characters from the series. Jitendra Kumar—popularly known as the 'Panchayat Sachiv' (Secretary)—will appear in the film. He is both excited and nervous about being part of the project.
He said, "I hope people like the character of Bablu that I have portrayed. It was quite challenging for me, but the entire crew and cast made me feel very comfortable during the shoot." Regarding the opportunity, he mentioned that when he first heard about it, he felt like walking out of the meeting because he had originally been called for a different film.
"Then, suddenly, I was offered the role of Bablu. At that moment, I thought, 'Man, this could be difficult.' But when I met director Gurmmeet Singh and writer Puneet Krishna, they explained the character and the world of the story to me. That gave me the confidence that I didn't need to run away; I could become part of this wonderful world." When asked about joining this world—and his parents' instructions to avoid using abusive language—Jitendra laughed and said, "There were a lot of expletives; they all went out the window."

There is immense excitement among fans regarding *Mirzapur: The Movie*. As for the release date, the film is scheduled to hit theaters on September 4, 2026.
