Chaitra Navratri Kanya Pujan: The most important task after the Navratri fast is Kanya Pujan. Based on their local and domestic beliefs, people call girls home and feed them on the day of Ashtami or Navami. First of all, their feet are washed after calling them home and after the meal, they bid farewell by waving the mother's chunari and touching their feet after seeing gifts and Dakshina etc. On the last fast of Navratri, on Ashtami or Navami, worshipping small girls as goddesses is called Kanya Pujan or Kanjak.

In Kanya Pujan, people consider small girls from 2 years to 10 years as different forms of Maa Durga and call them home with respect and feed them food, puri, halwa, gram and coconut and also give them gifts and take their blessings. It is believed that by worshipping Kanya, Maa Durga quickly gets pleased and gives her blessings.

Do not make mistakes in Kanya Pujan: People do Kanya Pujan in Navratri with great enthusiasm but they should take care that they do not make any mistake which may anger the Goddess and you may have to become a victim of the Goddess's anger.
