Broccoli is packed with essential nutrients—such as vitamins, calcium, and iron—that are highly beneficial for the physical and mental development of growing children.

This raises the question: what exactly can be done to get children to eat broccoli without making a fuss? The easiest and most enjoyable solution is the *Crispy Broccoli Paratha*. Yes, it is so delicious that your children won't bring back even a single piece in their lunchboxes! Let's discover this incredibly simple recipe.
Broccoli Paratha
Ingredients Required for Broccoli Paratha:
Whole Wheat Flour – 2 cups
Broccoli (finely grated) – 1 cup
Carom Seeds (Ajwain) – 1 teaspoon
Green Chili (finely chopped) – 1 (optional; if children enjoy spicy food)
Ginger-Garlic Paste – ½ teaspoon
Coriander Powder & Garam Masala – ½ teaspoon each
Salt – To taste
Ghee or Oil – For roasting the parathas
Method for Making Broccoli Paratha:
First, wash the broccoli thoroughly and grate it very finely. You may also use a food chopper if you prefer. If the grated broccoli appears to be too wet, gently squeeze out the excess moisture so that the parathas do not tear while rolling.
Now, take the whole wheat flour in a large mixing bowl. Add the grated broccoli to it. Next, mix in the carom seeds, salt, coriander powder, garam masala, and ginger-garlic paste.
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly *without* adding any water initially, as the broccoli itself contains some moisture. Now, gradually add very small amounts of water as needed to knead a soft dough. Apply a light coating of oil over the dough, cover it, and let it rest for 10 minutes to allow it to set.

After 10 minutes, divide the dough into small, equal-sized balls (portions). Take a ball of dough, dust it with a little dry flour, and roll it out into a round shape—or into a triangular or square shape, as your children prefer.
Heat a griddle (tava) over medium heat and place the rolled-out paratha onto it. Once the paratha is lightly cooked on one side, flip it over. Now, apply a generous amount of ghee or oil to both sides and cook the paratha until it becomes perfectly crispy and golden brown.
