Dostana 2: Filming for Dostana 2 is set to begin soon, and Vikrant Massey will be seen in an unexpected new avatar..

Vikrant Massey will soon be seen in Karan Johar's Dostana 2. This is the actor's first film with Dharma Productions. Dostana 2 was initially supposed to star Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor, but Kartik was removed from the film due to a falling out with Karan Johar. Karan Johar cited Kartik Aaryan's unprofessional behavior as the reason for his removal. However, Janhvi Kapoor also exited Dostana 2 shortly afterward. Now, this Dharma Productions film will feature Vikrant Massey and Lakshya Lalwani, known from 'Bads of Bollywood'.

Vikrant Massey will be seen in a never-before-seen avatar in this Karan Johar film. According to a Filmfare report, Vikrant and Lakshya may begin shooting for "Dostana 2" next month, in February 2026. However, there has been no official confirmation from the makers yet.  According to media reports, Vikrant Massey will be seen in a handsome hunk look with six-pack abs in this film. This is the National Award-winning actor's first film with Dharma Productions.  Audiences are also quite excited to see Vikrant and Lakshya together on screen.

Why was Kartik Aaryan dropped from Dostana 2?
After Kartik Aaryan's exit from the film, the makers cast Vikrant Massey. Lakshya, on the other hand, was offered this big film considering the success of his previous project. In 2024, Kartik broke his silence on this controversy and told Lallantop, "I was silent when this news came out, and I prefer to remain silent now as well. I focus 100% on my work, and when such controversies arise, I stay calm. I don't get involved in them much, and I don't need to prove anything to anyone."

Dostana was a Superhit
"Dostana 2" is the sequel to the superhit film Dostana, which was released in 2008. It was the first Bollywood film that openly discussed issues like homosexuality. The film had everything – love, drama, and emotions. Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, and Priyanka Chopra played the lead roles, while Bobby Deol, Kirron Kher, and Boman Irani made a strong presence in supporting roles.
