Religious importance of Kailash Mansarovar

This journey takes place at a very high altitude and cold climate, which requires hard work and courage.

Trekking has to be done at an altitude of up to 19,500 feet during the journey.

Only physically and mentally healthy people are eligible for this journey.

People suffering from diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, heart disease, and epilepsy are considered ineligible for this journey.

MEA selects the passengers through a computerized lottery system.

Selected passengers are informed 3-4 weeks before their travel date.
All the selected travellers have to sign an indemnity bond which states that they are doing this journey at their own risk.

In case of an emergency, one has to agree to the condition of rescue by helicopter.

The passport must be valid before the journey.
