Dal Pancakes

Ingredients- Leftover dal, gram flour, finely chopped vegetables (onion, capsicum, and spinach), chopped green chilies, chopped coriander leaves, cumin powder, turmeric, red chili powder, salt to taste, oil or ghee.

Method

Mix gram flour in the leftover dal. Make sure the batter is not too thick or too thin. Add chopped vegetables, green chilies, coriander leaves and spices to it.

Heat a non-stick pan on medium flame. Apply some oil or ghee on the surface.

When the pan is hot, pour a spoonful of batter into the pan and spread it gently.

Cook the pancake on low flame till it becomes golden brown and crispy.

When the bottom side is cooked, flip using a spatula and cook till the other side becomes golden.

Dal Tikki

Ingredients

Leftover dal, gram flour, boiled potatoes, finely chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, chopped green chilies, turmeric powder, salt to taste, and oil.

Method

Mash boiled potatoes in leftover dal. Add one spoon of gram flour, chopped onion, and garlic-ginger paste to it.

Mix cumin powder, salt, red chili powder, and turmeric powder and prepare the batter well.

Make round tikkis of this mixture press them with hands and cool them.

Apply oil in the pan and fry the tikki. Keep in mind that the tikki should be fried till it turns golden on both sides.
