Basant Panchami Special Recipe: The festival of Basant Panchami is celebrated especially to worship Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and learning. On this day, people wear yellow clothes and prepare yellow sweet dishes in their homes.

Yellow sweet rice holds special significance on Basant Panchami. It's easy to make and is loved by both children and adults. Here, we are sharing an easy recipe so you can prepare delicious sweet rice at home without any hassle.

Ingredients for Yellow Sweet Rice:
Basmati rice – 1 cup
Milk – 1.5 cups
Sugar – ½ cup (to taste)
Ghee – 2 tablespoons
Saffron – a few strands or Turmeric – ½ teaspoon
Chopped nuts – 2 tablespoons (cashews, almonds, raisins)

Instructions:

To make yellow sweet rice, first wash the basmati rice and soak it for 20 minutes.
Then, heat the ghee in a pan and lightly sauté the rice in it.
This will allow the rice to absorb the flavor of the ghee.
Now add the milk and let the rice cook on low heat.

When the rice is half-cooked, add the sugar and saffron and mix well.
Then, cook the mixture on low heat until the rice has completely absorbed the milk and sugar.
Finally, garnish with chopped nuts like cashews, almonds, and raisins.
Serve the prepared yellow sweet rice hot.
This dish is not only delicious but also visually appealing.

5 Important things to keep in mind while making Yellow Sweet Rice:

1. Soak the rice for 15-20 minutes before cooking so that the grains become soft and fluffy.

2. Maintain a balanced ratio of rice and milk; too much milk will make the rice watery, and too little milk will make it dry.

3. Cook the rice on low heat; high heat can curdle the milk and cause the rice to stick to the bottom of the pan.

4. Add the sugar after the rice is half-cooked, and use a balanced amount of saffron or turmeric. 5. Add the nuts after lightly roasting them, and use clean utensils and hands during cooking.
