Vadh 2 Movie Review: 'Vadh 2' keeps you hooked, acting is its strongest point; the director turns the tables in the climax..

Featuring powerful actors like Sanjay Mishra, Neena Gupta, Kumud Mishra, and Shilpa Shukla, this film doesn't fall short in terms of acting. Its story keeps you hooked throughout. Jaspal Singh Sandhu's tight direction makes it even stronger. The film has everything: love, lust, revenge, anger, and silence. So, what's the film like overall? Let's find out…

The Story
The film begins in 1994, when Manju Devi (Neena Gupta) is sentenced to 28 years in prison for double murder. Shambhunath Mishra (Sanjay Mishra), a guard at the same prison where Manju has been incarcerated for 28 years, is in love with her. Shambhu steals vegetables from the prison and sells them outside, providing Manju with whatever help she needs.

Meanwhile, Prakash Singh (Kumud Mishra) is appointed as the new superintendent of the prison. On the other hand, a notorious prisoner, Keshav (Akshay Dogra), sets his sights on Naina (Yogita Bihani), a 23-year-old female prisoner. One night, something happens that leads Prakash to beat up Keshav, after which Keshav disappears from the prison.
An investigation is launched, and Inspector Ateet Singh (Amit K. Singh) arrives at the prison to investigate. The rest of the story revolves around finding Keshav and what happened to him.

What's the film like?
There's a scene between Sanjay and Neena at the beginning of the film. Under a star-filled sky, without looking at each other, they talk across the prison wall. This scene exudes a sense of peace, tranquility, and true love. From this scene itself, you get an idea of the kind of brilliant acting you're about to witness.

This isn't a typical masala film where something happens every moment. It progresses like an art film, so the build-up is a bit slow, but once it picks up speed and becomes intense, the suspense remains. The film becomes even more interesting half an hour before the interval. The second half is a bit slow before the climax, but when you reach the climax, you realize that what you were expecting was completely wrong.

Acting
You simply cannot be disappointed in this department of the film. Neena Gupta is excellent in every single scene. Even without speaking, she acts with her eyes and expressions. Sanjay Mishra feels like one of your own throughout the film. He wins your heart with his innocence. Kumud Mishra shines whenever he appears on screen. Even amidst such brilliant actors, Amit Singh makes his presence felt. His character is also very important in the film. He acts more with his expressions than with words. Yogita Bihani wins your heart with her innocence, while you develop a strong dislike for Akshay Dogra. Shilpa Shukla has fewer scenes, but her acting is also remarkable.

Direction
Jaspal Singh Sandhu's film is quite intense. Some scenes are so powerful that you will feel a shiver down your spine. You are so engrossed in the film that when Prakash Singh beats up Keshav in one scene, you don't even realize it, but you find yourself clenching your fists. You will feel the pain and suffering of the characters. The film keeps you hooked till the very end. Several times you think you know everything, but in the end, you are proven wrong.
