Every year, the festival of Akshaya Navami is celebrated two days after Devuthani Ekadashi. This day holds special significance in Hinduism. On this day, Lord Vishnu and the Amla tree are worshipped. The Navami Tithi of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of Kartik month begins at 10:06 am on October 30th. This Tithi will end at 10:03 am on October 31st. Therefore, Akshaya Navami will be celebrated on Friday, October 31st. The auspicious time for worship during this time will be as follows:

Importance of Akshaya Navami
'Akshaya' means immortal or that which never decays. It is believed that the fruits of charity and good deeds done on this day never diminish. Akshaya Navami is also called Amla Navami, as worshipping the Amla tree on this day is considered to be of special significance.

According to religious beliefs, Lord Vishnu resides on the Amla tree from the ninth day of the Shukla Paksha of Kartik month to the full moon day. Consuming Amla and eating food prepared under the Amla tree on this day also blesses the devotee and his family with good health.

Why is this day celebrated?
It is believed that the Satya Yuga began on Akshaya Navami. Therefore, Akshaya Navami is also called Satya Yugadi. According to some other beliefs, it was on Akshaya Navami that Lord Krishna traveled from Vrindavan to Mathura to fulfill his duties. This is why large crowds of devotees gather on Akshaya Navami to perform the circumambulation of Mathura and Vrindavan.
