Bowl food: Now it's the era of 'bowl food'; it's the perfect mix of taste, health, and convenience..

These days, a new trend has started to take hold, from food delivery apps to restaurant menus. For young people leading busy lives and working demanding jobs, eating a full meal is time-consuming. They want something that offers both new flavors and nutritional value. Thanks to social media, bowl food, which initially seemed like a fleeting trend, has now become a permanent and popular menu item in restaurants.

The Secret to Its Popularity
Bowl food is directly connected to the needs of today's consumers, who value balance, convenience, and mindful eating. It's easy to eat, visually appealing, and nutritionally balanced. From smoothie bowls packed with superfoods to bowls rich in grains and protein, this concept fits perfectly into the fast-paced urban lifestyle.  It also offers the cozy comfort of home-cooked food to those working from home or in hybrid jobs. Previously, people considered chickpeas or kidney beans with rice, and lentils with rice as comfort food; they find the same comfort in these bowl meals today. While this trend might be new abroad, in India, it feels both modern and familiar.

Global Flavors with a Desi Twist
While we readily adopt foreign cuisines, we never forget to add our own desi touch. We experiment with global bowls, giving them a local twist. The burrito bowl with red rice and spicy paneer, and the ramen bowl with lemongrass and roasted vegetables are examples of this. We emphasize local, seasonal green vegetables and Indian flavors like cumin, mustard seeds, and pickles, while also aiming to create a bowl that truly whets the appetite. It's all about the presentation!
In India, dishes like 'Rajma-Chawal' (kidney beans and rice) or 'Dal Makhani-Chawal' (creamy lentil and rice) have been eaten in a bowl style for centuries, but now the focus is on the presentation of bowl food, portion control, visual appeal, and nutritional diversity. We create layers of protein, grains, and fresh vegetables in a way that makes it look incredibly appealing and healthy. Our traditional comfort foods are now being served in new ways, making them more vibrant, palatable, and suitable for today's lifestyle.

What's next?
Going forward, we are focusing on wellness bowls, which will include millets and other indigenous grains, fresh herbs, probiotic elements, and light spices and chutneys.
