Delhi Pollution News: With the onset of winter in Delhi-NCR, air quality concerns are likely to grow. As pollution levels rise, many people may wish to escape the city's hustle and bustle for a few days. Destinations nestled amidst mountains, forests, or near lakes make for excellent choices for such short getaways.

A bulletin issued on October 25, 2026, by the Delhi Air Quality Early Warning System—operated by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) under the Ministry of Earth Sciences—predicted that air quality in Delhi could fall into the 'Poor' category between October 26 and 28.
If you are planning a 2–3 day trip to escape the rising air pollution in Delhi, consider visiting hill stations in Uttarakhand or Himachal Pradesh. Places like Lansdowne, Nainital, Landour, and Shimla are renowned for their natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. However, there is no guarantee that the air will be clean everywhere, so be sure to check the local Air Quality Index (AQI) before setting off on your trip.
Lansdowne
Located in Uttarakhand, Lansdowne is known for its deodar and pine forests, quiet roads, and scenic mountain vistas. Key attractions include Bhulla Tal and Tip-n-Top. It takes approximately 6–7 hours (or longer) to reach by road from Delhi, making it a great option for a relaxing two-day trip.
Nainital
Popular attractions in Nainital include Naini Lake, Mall Road, and various nearby viewpoints. You can explore the local sights in two to three days; however, travel time may vary depending on tourist crowds and weather conditions.
Landour
Situated above Mussoorie, Landour is celebrated for its peaceful pathways, historic buildings, and mountain views. It is an ideal spot for leisurely walks and spending time in local cafés. The journey from Delhi can take approximately 6–7 hours or longer.
Shimla
Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, is popular for attractions such as The Ridge, Mall Road, and various historic buildings. Traveling by road from Delhi may take about 7–8 hours or more; therefore, it might be a good idea to include it in a three-day trip.

Dhanolti
Dhanolti, located in Uttarakhand, is known for its forested areas and natural scenery. You could plan a visit to the Eco Park and explore the surrounding landscapes. Be sure to check road conditions and local air quality before your trip.
