The title of Salman Khan's upcoming film, which is inspired by the Galwan Valley clash, has been changed. The film was previously titled 'Battle of Galwan.' However, it has now been renamed 'Matrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace.' The film's director, Apoorva Lakhia, has explained why the title was changed.

What Did Apoorva Lakhia Say?
In a conversation with *HT*, the director stated, "Changing the title might seem sudden to Salman Khan's fans, but it was never a decision taken overnight. From the very beginning, we had registered two titles: one was 'Battle of Galwan,' and the other was 'Matrubhumi.' As we progressed on our journey of making this film, we realized that it wasn't just about a single battle. In reality, this film is about humanity, empathy, and the silent battles fought by our soldiers."
The Title Reflects Humanity
The director further added, "'Matrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace' reflects the spirit of the film and the sacrifices involved far more authentically. This title captures the soul of the story and highlights the preservation of humanity even amidst conflict. The film also features a song by the same name. The love we have received from the audience has further validated this choice of title."

When Was the Title Changed?
It is worth noting that on Monday, Salman Khan officially unveiled the film's new title, simultaneously releasing a new poster. In the poster, Salman Khan is seen peering out from behind a blood-stained wooden log that is wrapped in a barbed chain.
Has the Release Date Changed?
Salman Khan's upcoming film was originally scheduled to hit theaters on April 17. However, the post shared by Salman Khan announcing the title change does not mention the film's release date anywhere. Neither on the film's poster nor in the caption is April 17—or any release date whatsoever—visible anywhere. This raises the question: has the film's release date also been postponed?
